Open-link Survey is Live!

The Town of Brunswick has released an open-link survey to collect public input on the future of the Midcoast Athletic & Recreation Complex (MARC). The 10-minute survey can be taken online via the link below. Paper copies are also available and can be picked up at the Brunswick Town Hall (85 Union Street) in the Clerk's office or Brunswick Recreation Center (220 Neptune Drive).

The Town is looking to hear what kind of recreational amenities, facilities, and programs the public would like to have on the Brunswick Landing site. Results from the survey will inform the design of a 10-acre parcel. The property was conveyed to the Town of Brunswick in 2020 from the U.S. Navy, designated specifically to be used for recreational purposes.

In addition to the open-link survey, a statistically-verifiable survey is also in progress. The Town mailed postcards for the statistically-verifiable survey to 5,000 randomly-selected Brunswick residents. If you have already taken this survey, you do not need to take the open-link survey. If you received a postcard, but have not yet taken the survey, please use the link and access code on the postcard! The Town is working with national recreation consultants GreenPlay and CHA during the initial planning phase of the MARC. The public survey is just one part of a broader community engagement process. To date, the following outreach activities have been completed or are in progress:

  • (complete) Interviews and focus groups with over 60 invited community leaders, partners, and constituencies.

  • (complete) Held a public meeting on November 18, 2021. Over 120 community members attended the public meeting and took part in live polling.

  • (in progress) Statistically-verifiable survey.

  • (in progress) Open-link survey.

The Town anticipates having a preliminary site design in the first quarter of 2022. To learn more about the project, visit https://www.marcproject.org/about.
