Things are Looking BRIGHT at the MARC!

Exciting progress continues at the Midcoast Athletic and Recreation Complex (MARC) as Brunswick’s new outdoor basketball courts and sports lighting project moves closer to completion. With several major pieces of the project now finished, the transformation of this space is becoming more visible with each passing week.

A Big Step Forward

Crews have made tremendous progress since our last update. The new basketball courts have been paved, the shade canopy has been installed, fencing is being added around the courts, and the new sports lighting system is now standing tall.

The next exciting milestone is just around the corner as crews prepare to paint the courts. This final step will bring the courts to life and showcase the finished design of this new recreation space.

More Ways to Play, More Hours to Enjoy

The addition of sports lighting will have an impact far beyond basketball. These lights will help extend recreation opportunities at the MARC by allowing the basketball courts, pickleball courts, and skatepark to be enjoyed later into the day.

Whether it’s an evening pickup game, a pickleball match with friends, or time at the skatepark after school, these improvements will create more flexibility for residents to enjoy outdoor recreation.

The Finish Line Is Near

The project is entering its final stages, and we are excited to see this new space come together. Once complete, the upgraded courts and lighting will provide a modern, welcoming area for youth programs, community activities, and everyday recreation.

The MARC will continue to offer its existing amenities throughout construction, including the walking loop, playground, pickleball courts, and skatepark. Visitors are reminded to follow all posted signage, stay clear of active construction areas, and use caution while crews complete the remaining work.
